HOUSING AND RESIDENTIAL:
What kind of impact would each of the following types of new residential development have on the community?

Single Family Homes

Duplexes and Tri-plexes

Apartments

If the people spoke and prefer single family homes, why does the county leadership continue to tell us that tax incentives for multi use and apartments is what "the people want"

Would you want to live next to a big apartment complex or a single family neighborhood?

Which is more favorable, a single family home or a multi family apartment complex for the JoCo board budget?

According to NACo

The average county spends around $1,200 to $2,000 per resident annually. This spending covers a variety of services, including public safety, health services, infrastructure, and general government operations.

Population Increase

Urban counties with larger populations tend to have lower per capita costs due to economies of scale, while rural counties spend more because they must provide services over larger areas with fewer people.

Continued increase in Property Tax Revenues that we all feel, along with a $50,000,000 increase in SERVICE CHARGES

Which raises some questions:

  • Ad Volerem (Property Taxes) has risen almost $50 Million in the last two years.
  • Charges for Service (aka Service Fee’s) are up almost $50 Million in the last two years
  • The county is now collecting $200Million in Bond Proceeds but continues to raise the budget???

The JoCo Budget does not show itemized spending, just categories like Personal Services, Commodities, Lease Payments, Capital Projects and Dept Service Payments.

Which raises some questions:

  • What and for who are these “personal services”
  • List these Capital Projects?
  • What are these Lease Payments?
  • Why is the Ending Balance $37Million short?

The 200 million increase in tax revenues was fully spent in this budget, two biggest increases, personal and Capital Projects... what is the money being spent on???
